Encouraging people to stay at home

With health authorities across the globe encouraging people to stay at home to fight the spread of Covid-19, YouTube aimed to help spread local governments’ messages and support their users’ wellbeing.

YouTube decided to launch a #StayHome #WithMe campaign, drawing attention to local Spotlight video channels. Here, users could discover curated playlists about exercising, cooking, drawing and other activities to do at home during lockdown.

Sharing resources and positive messages

For the EMEA region, we produced a content series of hero videos featuring local YouTube creators sharing the #StayHome #WithMe message.

Our next series showed famous YouTube creators and musicians – including Dua Lipa, Sam Smith, Gorillaz, Kaiser Chiefs and David Gray – talking to the camera, urging viewers to stay home, stay safe, wash their hands and do their bit to help slow the spread of Covid-19.

With 14 billion impressions, 43 million+ views in the first month alone, we helped inform people around the globe about the Covid-19 pandemic, while sharing vital messages that helped save lives. The campaign also caught attention of the media, with featuring our work.
